Two Younger Kenrith Siblings in Magic: The Gathering's Throne of Eldraine Revealed

Magic: The Gathering's new fairy tale-themed set, Throne of Eldraine, hasn't been released yet but fans who want to know more about the expansion's storyline can now read the new ebook by Kate Elliott, Throne of Eldraine: The Wildered Quest. In the ebook, Elliott fleshed out one of Eldraine's royal families, the Kenriths. Today, Wizards of the Coast has revealed a couple of new artworks by Ryan Pancost, and one of them reveals the two younger Kenrith siblings, Erec and Hazel. Check it out:

Here's what author Kate Elliott recently said about these new MTG characters:

"Erec is still quite young and one of those children who is cautious about new experiences. I'm sorry to say his older siblings, who adore him, would also all agree he is a bit spoiled. When he's a teen, I have a feeling he'll discover an unexpected gift or passionate interest or magical skill, and he'll pursue it with dedication and resolve.
Hazel on the other hand is an absolute troublemaker, able to talk rings around you, argue her way into and out of misadventure, and persuade and prod her band of loyal friends into all kinds of reckless mischief. Perhaps swimming in the moat (which is forbidden), figuring out where the perilous books of lore are locked away in the library, or setting just one foot into the Wilds at Choking Drum. Just one foot. Not two. Really."

Here's another artwork that features King Algenus Kenrith and Queen Linden.

Warning: The following contains major spoilers from Throne of Eldraine: The Wildered Quest.

In Throne of Eldraine: Wildered Quest, it was revealed that Will and Rowan are children of Algenus Kenrith, the High King, but not their mother. Algenus was bewitched by a witch living in a cottage, who used a love potion in order to make him fall in love and impregnate her. The witch needed the child for its blood and use it to make an eternal youth potion. The twin Kenriths were born and killed but Linden, the wife of Algenus, used her life-bound sword to revive them.

Throne of Eldraine: The Wildered Quest by Kate Elliott is now available in English for $3.99 everywhere Penguin Random House publishes ebooks, including Amazon, the Apple Store, and Barnes & Noble. The Throne of Eldraine set is inspired by the romantic Arthurian legend of Camelot and Grimms' Fairy Tales. It will be released on October 4.
