The upcoming Magic: The Gathering expansion Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths will finally be released on paper and digital soon, but due to the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic, most local game stores from around the world probably won't be hosting their usual in-store Prerelease events, but Wizards of the Coast is still letting stores in their Wizards Play Network (WPN) sell packs for players to take home as a special exception.
Today, Senior Magic Designer Gavin Verhey has revealed what the Ikoria: Lair of behemoths Prerelease packs will look like.
It's sad that most tabletop Magic players probably won't get to experience the in-store Prerelease events for Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. The set is one of the most innovative expansions Wizards of the Coast designed, and losing the chance to play them in the store sucks, but hopefully, players will still find a way to have fun with these Prerelease packs.
Ikoria: Commander decks will also be available for you to pick up. Hopefully, you'll have some friends or relatives you can play with at home.
Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths is set to launch on Magic: The Gathering Arena on April 16, for tabletop play in China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong on April 17, and for tabletop play everywhere else on May 15.
