Magic: The Gathering Reveals 2 New Theros Beyond Death Artworks

To hype up the release of Theros Beyond Death, Wizards of the Coast has been sharing official previews of cards from the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set, and today, fans get to see two new artworks you'll see in the new expansion.

Although WotC hasn't officially revealed "Daxos, Blessed by the Sun Art", the art for it was unpacked from Magic: The Gathering Arena, and you can check it out below. The art was illustrated by Lius Lasahido.

In the game's lore, Daxos was a human soldier and an oracle of Heliod living at the temple compount in Meletis on Theros. He became the friend, lover, and mentor of the planeswalker Elspeth Tirel. The character was first depicted in the "Daxos of Meletis" card.

Another new art from Theros Beyond Death is the epic art of the Ashiok nightmare token illustrated by Yeong-Hao Han:

We've already seen the new Ashiok card that produces this creature token.

Expect Wizards of the Coast to reveal something new about Theros Beyond Death at the Game Awards on Thursday night. You can check out the teaser here.

Theros Beyond Death, the 83rd Magic: The Gathering expansion, is set to release on January 24, 2020. Prerelease events will take place on January 17-19.
