Magic: The Gathering Mythic Championship London Will Test A New Mulligan Variant

Wizards of the Coast

Magic: The Gathering is going through some big changes this year, and now, Wizards of the Coast have announced on the official MTG Twitch channel that Mythic Championship London will be testing a new mulligan variant.

Here's how the new mulligan variant will work: Players will always draw up to 7 cards. Once you are satisfied, you will put a number of cards, according to the number of mulligans you have done, on the bottom of the library.

Each mulligan will probably increase your chance of having a more reasonable hand but it will probably be too strong for Constructed, especially in a meta with competitive combo decks but it would be entertaining to watch.

Mythic Championship London, the second Mythic Championship this year, will take place from April 26 to 28. It will be Tabletop instead of Magic Arena, and there will be a $500,000 prize pool. Video coverage will be available on Twitch.tv/magic.
