Magic: The Gathering In-Store Play Temporarily Suspended in Europe, Including Russia

Wizards of the Coast has suspended all In-Store Play in Europe and Russia, based on feedback from the Magic: The Gathering Zendikar Rising Prereleases.

"After reviewing feedback from Zendikar Rising Prerelease, closely monitoring the state of the pandemic, and above all considering the safety of the community, we've made the difficult decision to place in-store play under suspension in Europe, including Russia," WotC announced.

While In-Store Play has been suspended in North America and Latin America since July, it has been allowed in Europe and Russia as long as local authorities guidlines are followed, but now Wizards Play Network (WPN) stores in Europe and Russia are no longer allowed to do In-Store events.

Due to the suspension, Commander Legends will only offer remoate Prerelease only, and Kaldheim events starting in January 2021 will also feature remote events only.

The next status update will be on Wednesday, November 11, but the suspension will extend at least through Kaldheim Prerelease.
