Magic: The Gathering Head Designer Confirms That All Uncommon Planeswalkers in War of The Spark Only Have 1 Minus Ability

The War of the Spark panel at PAX East revealed some of the new Planeswalker cards that will be featured in the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set and you would notice that all the uncommon Planeswalker cards revealed so far only have a static ability and a minus ability. Now, fans are wondering if that's the case for all the uncommon Planeswalkers in the set.

When Magic head designer Mark Rosewater was asked if they all have only one minus ability, he confirmed on his Blogatog that all 20 uncommon Planeswalker cards in War of the Spark will only have a minus ability and a static or triggered ability.

This is the first-ever Magic set to feature 36 Planeswalkers and uncommon ones. It would be interesting to see the different kinds of synergies players can do in Standard with a large number of Planeswalkers they can use in the format.

War of the Spark will be released on May 3, 2019. It's the third of a series of consecutive sets set in Ravnica and it will focus on the epic war between Nicol Bolas and the Gatewatch.
