Magic: The Gathering Enemy Fetchlands To Be Reprinted With New Art in Secret Lair - Ultimate Edition

The biggest (and most expensive) Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair yet is coming to local game stores this May, and today, the Tolarian Community College YouTube channel has revealed what the five great cards it contains: the five enemy Fetchlands with brand new art by five of Magic's most celebrated artists, and each land is set in a different plane.

Wizards of the Coast's Senior Franchise Communication Manager, Blake Rasmussen talked to the Professor about the details of the Secret Lair - Ultimate Edition, which will be available in local game stores. Rasmussen revealed that the new versions of enemy Fetchlands are non-foil, and the whole set will cost a "bit more than $165.00". Each card will be in a hard case, and all five are placed in a nice display box.

The Secret Lair - Ultimate Edition contains:

Marsh Flats (illustrated by Alayna Danner; set in Lorwyn)

Scalding Tarn (illustrated by Adam Paquette; set in Shiv of Dominaria)

Verdant Catacombs (illustrated by Sam Burley; set in Innistrad)

Arid Mesa (illustrated by John Avon; set in Amonkhet)

Misty Rainforest (illustrated by Seb McKinnon; set in Ixalan)

According to Rasmussen, the Secret Lair - Ultimate Edition is not the only place where they will be reprinting Fetchlands this year. He didn't reveal specific details but Rasmussen said that they will be available in another form at local game stores later this year, but they won't be released in a Standard MTG set.

Last week, Senior Magic Designer Gavin Verhey hinted that Fetchlands will be reprinted: "Absolutely. I can pretty much guarantee you that they will show up somewhere along the line," he added. "We know players need them, we aren't bound by the reserved list, and frankly, we'd be fools to not reprint them. And, after we reprint them, I am sure soon enough people will hop on the train of another card or cycle or land we haven't reprinted in a while the same exact way that has happened every other time... And the process begins anew.

The Secret Lair - Ultimate Edition will be available at your local game store on May 29. All stores in the WPN network are able to order the new product, so if you're a WPN store owner, contact your distributor.
