Number of Magic: The Gathering Mythic Titans in Theros Beyond Death Confirmed


As the official previews for Theros Beyond Death continues, fans are wondering if Wizards of the Coast will reveal more mythic rare titan cards from the new Magic: The Gathering set following the reveals of "Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger" and "Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath".

Sadly, according to Magic head designer Mark Rosewater, those are the only two mythic titans in Theros Beyond Death. Rosewater has confirmed the info on his Blogatog, anwering a fan's question about the number of mythic titans in the set.

Hopefully, we'll see more mythic titans in upcoming sets like Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths and Zendikar Rising.

On a seperate post, Rosewater explained the difference between the Showcase framesin Theros Beyond Death and the Showcase frames in Throne of Eldraine. "The showcase cards in each set are different," Rosewater wrote. "Throne of Eldraine had the storybook frames (found on the adventure cards). Theros Beyond Death has the Nyx basic lands and the constellation frames (found on the gods and demigods)."

Theros Beyond Death, the 83rd Magic: The Gathering expansion, is set to release on January 24, 2020. Prerelease events will take place on January 17-19.
