The Open Beta for Magic: The Gathering Arena was just released last week, and it didn't take long for the new digital game to get a lot of viewers on Twitch. Many are already comparing Arena to the other popular digital collectible card game, Hearthstone, but it looks like they're already on the same playing field.

On Thursday night, Magic: The Gathering Arena surpassed Hearthstone in Twitch viewership. Check out the screenshot of stats via RedditorLihnuz:

As you can see above, Magic Arena had 20,044 viewers while Hearthstone had 18,173 viewers. That's pretty impressive for a game whose Open Beta was released just a week ago. Let's not forget though that a huge portion of those numbers came from sponsored streamers like Magic Hall of Famer Brian Kibler. It looks like Arena has the potential to become more successful than Hearthstone.
