Though fans still need to wait a bit longer for a Season 2 announcement, Lycoris Recoil just announced a new Sanrio collab that should delight fans who can’t get enough of Chisato and Takina.
This new collab features a pop-up shop with a range of merch that features the Lycoris Recoil cast paired with a certain Sanrio character.
For instance, Chisato is paired with Kuromi while Takina is with My Melody.
While this new collab doesn’t come with any anime-related news, the fact that Lycoris Recoil continues to get merch is a good sign for a potential second season.
Lycoris Recoil Season 2 Is Still Unannounced
Released back in the Summer 2022 season, Lycoris Recoil wasn’t really hyped up much before it began given that it’s an original anime, meaning there’s no existing fanbase for it yet.
But as the season progressed, the show became one of the season’s biggest hits. In fact, it also became one of the most popular anime in Japan based on year-end rankings.
Despite the anime’s success, Lycoris Recoil still hasn’t gotten a second-season announcement yet. Though an anime sequel was confirmed back in February.
This sequel was announced at an event for the anime, but details on it remain vague.
After all, it’s only confirmed to be an anime sequel, so it might turn out to be Season 2, or maybe an anime film or an OVA.
Still, it’s something that fans can look forward to. And to tide fans over while waiting, the new Sanrio collab was revealed.

Lycoris Recoil’s Latest Collab Is With Popular Character Brand Sanrio
The Lycoris Recoil and Sanrio collab was revealed via the show’s Twitter account and a website for the pop-up.
There, a key visual of Chisato and Takina in Kuromi and My Melody outfits, respectively was shared.
Along with this main visual, another image in the cutesier Sanrio style was released, featuring six characters from the anime.
Aside from Chisato and Takina, the characters in the visual include Kurumi with Pompompurin, Mizuki with Tuxedo Sam, Majima with Badtz-maru, and Robota with Keroppi.
The merch that will be featured in the pop-up shop has not been revealed yet, but they’ll likely feature goods that feature the collab’s key visuals.
The Lycoris Recoil x Sanrio pop-up shop will open on June 24 in Nagoya, Sendai, Osaka, Sapporo, and Tokyo. More details about the pop-up will be revealed soon.
