Lycoris Recoil may not have new sequel info yet, but fans of the series have a new manga that should be right up their alley. Recently, Lycoris Recoil creator Asaura launched the new futuristic sci-fi manga Double Helix Blossom.
This new manga may not be in the LycoReco universe, but its premise and two main characters clearly show that Asaura is at the helm.
After all, this new series features a female main duo once again, with one being serious and another being playful.
Asaura Is Back With Another Futuristic Series Featuring Two Main Girls
Asaura is a manga and novel writer who has created various series, including the action-comedy manga Ben-To, which was adapted into an anime back in 2011 by David Production (of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fame).
Perhaps Asaura’s most popular work is Lycoris Recoil, the original series by A-1 Pictures that took the anime world by storm back in the Summer 22 season thanks to its adorable main duo and great action.
In the series, Asaura is credited for the original story concept and the scripts. Given that the anime’s concept came from him, Asaura will no doubt be involved in future LycoReco projects.
For now, there’s no word yet on when the sequel will be released, though fans at least have something new to look forward to every week with Asaura’s new manga.
Titled Double Helix Blossom, this new manga is set in the near future and follows Kiku Shinonome, a police officer who has been in cryogenic stasis for 60 years to save her from a fatal wound.
Kiku wakes up and is assigned to solve paranormal incidents. Aside from having to deal with a 60-year time jump, Kiku must also work with the former criminal Kyo Tsukisagari who has psychic abilities.
Kyo and Kiku have opposite personalities, leading the two to often clash while on an investigation.

Double Helix Blossom Manga Begins Serialization in a Shogakukan Magazine
Double Helix Blossom’s setting may be far from Lycoris Recoil, but the dynamic between Kyo and Kiku is no doubt reminiscent of Takina and Chisato.
Their character designs even reflect this, with the more serious Kiku having black hair while the psychic Kyo has bright pink hair.
This new Asaura manga began serialization today in Shogakukan’s Weekly CoroCoro Comic magazine.
For now, there’s no word on whether this new manga will be released in English outside of Japan. Given the popularity of Asaura’s LycoReco anime, fans are no doubt hoping for an official English release for this series.
