Project Luminous has given Star Wars fans a whole lot to look forward to now that the Skywalker saga has finally come to an end with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Luminous just recently unveiled Star Wars: The High Republic, revealing a brand new series of Star Wars books, novels, and comics set during the height of the Republic and the Jedi Order.
The High Republic is going to take Star Wars fans the height of the Jedi about two hundred years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Of course, the golden age of the Jedi doesn't necessarily mean that there won't be any villains in the series. There's going to be a new threat to the galaxy called the Nihil, and during the reveal event, Lucasfilm decided to drop some new concept art giving fans their first look at the new villain.
Taking a photo of the concept art presented at the big reveal for Star Wars: The High Republic, ABC News correspondent Clayton Sandell says that the Nihil threat has been described to be "like Sid Vicious taking over the galaxy."
The Nihil have also been described to be "space Vikings" and the masters of hyperspace. Based on all of the descriptions of the Nihils, it looks fans are going to enjoy seeing the villains battle the Jedi in The High Republic.
We can't help but wonder whether Lucasfilm's The High Republic might result in a movie or two with the Jedi battling the Nihils. Let's cross our fingers and wait and see.
Star Wars: The High Republic will begin in August in time for the annual Star Wars Celebration.
