Lucasfilm Reportedly Planning To Develop Ewok And Endor Series For Disney+

Lucasfilm might be busy working on Star Wars: Episode IX, but the studio's also preparing for the franchise's future after the studio's third and final sequel trilogy installment makes its way to the big screen. Not only is the studio working on Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian, but it's also working on a Rouge One spin-off series for Disney+, one that focuses on Diego Luna's Captain Cassian Andor.

Though there hasn't been that many news about Lucasfilm's upcoming television projects, there's a rumor going around saying that the studio might actually be looking into creating a new Star Wars series centered on Endor and its Ewoks. This rumor comes from movie scoop website Moviehole and has been making the rounds on Twitter with some believing that this series might be the third secret production that's currently taking place in Pinewood.

For those who aren't familiar with the Star Wars creatures, the Ewoks are hunter-gathering mammaloid bipeds that closely resemble teddy bears. Inhabitants of the forest moon of Endor, the Ewoks which appeared in Star Wars: Episode VI- Return of the Jedi were first intended for Star Wars toy merchandising. Though they were a controversial addition to the Star Wars universe, some fans have come to like the furry killers.

Ewoks have had two different television films back in the '80s, The Ewok Adventure which was released back in 1984, and then Ewoks: The Battle for Endor which came out in 1985. The creatures also had a short-lived animated series called Ewoks.
