Lucasfilm Adds Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller to Cassian Andor Disney+ Series

The spread of the novel coronavirus may have shut down the production of Lucasfilm's upcoming Star Wars projects, but that hasn't stopped the studio from negotiating with actors and adding them into the cast list for upcoming series.

According to a new report by Variety, Lucasfilm has just cast Good Will Hunting star Stellan Skarsgard and An Inspector Calls actor Kyle Soller in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story spinoff series, Cassian Andor.

Right now both actors are in final negotiations for their roles. If Lucasfilm does manage to nab Soller and Skarsgard, then the two will be joining Rogue One actor Diego Luna.

Cassian Andor is supposed to be a Disney+ series focused on Cassian Andor, the Rebel Alliance intelligence officer that helps Jynn Erso (Felicity Jones) and a team of other Rebels in stealing the Death Star plans. Though Cassian, Jynn, K-2SO, and the rest of the team don't make it out of Scariff alive, this new series will follow the intelligence officer's adventures before Rogue One during the early days of the rebellion.

Variety hasn't been told what Skarsgard and Soller's roles are going to be, however, we can guess that the two might play roles in the Rebel Alliance or they might play roles in the Empire.

Skarsgard and Soller are the first potential additions to the series aside from Luna and Tudyk who will reprise their roles in the upcoming series. Cassian Andor doesn't have an exact release date just yet, however, the series is slated to premiere sometime in 2021 exclusively on Disney's streaming site, Disney+.
