Lovers of the Red Sky remains the No.1 K-drama among those that air in the Monday and Tuesday evening time slots. It continues to be at a tight match with the KBS series Police University and tvN Kdrama High Class.
The series received a nationwide viewership rating of 9.6% for Episode 9 which is a 0.7% increase from last week's ratings of 8.9%. Now that the SBS Kdrama is already halfway through the storyline, it is expected to recover from its downfall from its personal best of 10.2% nationwide viewership rating in Episode 6.
Lovers of the Red Sky is a historical fantasy romance drama based on a novel of the same name penned by artist Jung Eun Gwol. The renowned artist also worked with Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and The Moon Embracing The Sun, both adapted into hit Kdrama series.

Lovers of the Red Sky Episode 9 is titled ‘Physiognomy of the Immortal' and sees the Demon almost getting out of Ha Ram's body. Thankfully, the Tiger Spirit managed to subdue it when it was about to strangle Hong Cheon Gi to death.
On the other hand, Prince Yangmyeong intends to investigate further what happened in the Gyeongwon Pavilion and suggests that Ha Ram will be taken to the Inspection Office. Cheon Gi worries that the event is not solely because of Ha Ram and recommends that the prince should investigate the Gyeongwon Pavilion first.
In the meantime, Cheon Gi continues to work hard in practicing painting the late King's portrait. As she finds it difficult to draw smooth lines, she goes to a physiognomist with Ha Ram to learn about different face shapes and facial bone structures.
Ha Ram eventually finds out about the Demon that resides inside of him when he meets Prince Joohyang as Ilwolseong. To quench her curiosity due to her father's madness when she mentioned her task, Cheon Gi finds out why she was chosen to restore the portrait.
