If you’re looking for another sports anime in this spring season of anime, then look no further, for Love All Play is going to hit the screens sooner than expected. Based on the novel by Asami Koseki, Love All Play is a sports anime inspired by badminton. The anime will also have a manga adaptation by Dam Miyata.

In case you didn’t know, Yonex, the hit sporting equipment producer, is collaborating on the character designs for the anime. They have previously assisted with the 2018 Badminton anime, Hanebad.

What is Love All Play About?

Love All Play is an anime that centers on the story of Ryou Mizushima and his genuine passion for the sport of badminton. He enters junior high and joins the badminton club with the hopes of participating in official tournaments. However, the badminton club doesn’t have a proper coach, much to Ryou’s dismay.

With his persistent practice and love for the sport, Ryou manages to enter the junior high prefectural tournament despite his difficulties and the badminton club’s shortcomings. Fortunately, he manages to attract the attention of Yokohama Minato High School’s badminton coach, Ebihara.

Ryou began attending the prestigious school of Yokohama Minato and ended up joining its badminton club. Now, armed with a proper coach, and a set of peculiar teammates, Ryou is aiming to participate in and win the upcoming inter-high tournament.

Love All Play is set to be released on April 2, 2022, at 5:30 PM JST. The official website, Twitter, and Instagram accounts of the anime have yet to release the official partner for international distribution.

However, it is assumed that once international distribution has been confirmed, the premiere of the anime for global viewers will be shortly delayed and be shown at the following times:

  • Pacific Time: 1:30 AM PT
  • Central Time: 3:30 AM CT
  • Eastern Time: 4:30 AM EST
  • British Time: 9:30 AM GMT

Nippon Animation and OLM

Love All Play is set to be premiered on Japan’s YTV, NTV, and other affiliate channels starting April 2, 2022, every Saturday at 5:30 PM JST. It has been announced that the anime will air a total of 12 episodes.

However, for international viewers, it has not been determined which platform will distribute the anime. Rest assured that this article will be updated as soon as we have confirmed the information.

What Studio is Producing Love All Play?

Love All Play is co-produced by Nippon Animation and OLM.

Nippon Animation, a studio founded in 1975, is responsible for famous and classic anime shows such as Anne of Green Gables, Chibi Maruko-chan, Cooking Master Boy, and the original Hunter X Hunter. Some of their recent anime productions include The Case Files of Jeweler Richard and Let’s Make a Mug Too.

On the other hand, OLM, a studio established in 1994, is behind some of the most iconic anime shows such as Pokemon, Berserk, and Youkai Watch. Recently, they have animated Odd Taxi, Komi Can’t Communicate, Bungo, and Alchemist Gears of Judgement.

Hiroshi Takeuchi (Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Sailor Moon in-between animation, storyboarder) is in charge of directing the anime. Tomoko Konparu (Kimi ni Todoke, Ao Haru Ride, Nana) is writing the series composition together with Michiko Yokote (Naruto, Bleach, Gintama, Cowboy Bebop), Irie Shingo (Kuroko’s Basketball, All Out), and Hirami Miharu (Ao Haru Ride, xxxHolic, Handa-kun, Romeo x Juliet).

Kaneda Riko is in charge of the character designs for the anime. Lastly, Yuuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia, Haikyuu!!, Kiznaiver, Diabolik Lovers) is composing the anime’s music.
