LOTR: Rings of Power Star Breaks Silence On Adar Recast For Season 2


The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power had recently added seven new cast members for Season 2 and one of those cast members happens to be Sam Hazeldine (from Peaky Blinders and Slow Horses) who will be replacing Joseph Mawle in his initial role as the orc leader Adar. Mawle breaks silence on the Adar recast for Season 2.

Taking to Twitter, Joseph Mawle has expressed his support and addressed the sudden recast role for the upcoming second season. Despite his decision to leave the second season, the actor is willingly supporting the new cast added for Season 2, as he will be exploring a different world on his own as part of his job. Although other details are still being kept under wraps, one of them being the character details for the seven new cast members for Season 2, it is disappointing to watch an actor walk away from the second season. Hopefully, this won’t change how fans will feel about the show losing one of its original cast members.

Sam Hazeldine has big shoes to fill in the former Adar’s stead. Adar was revealed to be one of the elves Morgoth tortured into a ‘new and ruined form of life’, also called as the first orcs or ‘the Moriondor, the Sons of the Dark.’ in one The Rings of Power scene, Adar’s identity was confirmed to be an elf turned evil by Morgoth.

There are no official announcements yet on the release date for The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power Season 2, however, it can be presumed they will not be releasing until at least late 2023 or early 2024.
