LOTR: Rings of Power Welcomes Seven New Cast Members For Season 2


The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 may have ended in October this year, however, reports have circulated that The Rings of Power Season 2 has just welcomed seven new cast members.

Variety reported that the head of global television for Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders, has added seven new cast members set to have recurring roles for Season 2. With that, you can also check Sanders’ announcement on Amazon below:

“Since its premiere, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been bringing audiences together to experience the magic and wonder of J.R.R. Tolkien’s magnificent Middle-earth. To date, season one is the top Original series for Prime Video in every region and has been viewed by over 100 million people worldwide, a truly global hit that speaks to the universal nature of powerful storytelling. We welcome these wonderful actors to our ‘fellowship’ and look forward to telling more incredible Second Age stories in season two.”

Season 2 has added Gabriel Akuwudike (Hanna, Ridley Road), Yasen “Zates” Atour (The Witcher, Young Wallander), Ben Daniels (Jupiter’s Legacy, The Crown), Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle (Persuasion), and Nicholas Woodeson (Silent Witness, Rome).

Meanwhile, Joseph Mawle is no longer the orc leader Adar for Season 2, with Sam Hazeldine (Peaky Blinders, Slow Horses) stepping into the role. Though specific character details are still being kept under wraps, you can be sure we’ll keep you up to date once more details have been released.

All episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 will not be released until at least late 2023 or early 2024.
