Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power continues to shine a brighter future for the franchise’s success as a huge hit on Amazon Prime Video for garnering 25 million global viewers within 4 hours of its premiere. In fact, this success transformed into Rings of Power becoming the streaming platform’s “most-watched show ever”. Now that the Rings of Power Season 2 is in production, Prime Video has gradually been teasing on the new actors they’ve included upon the show’s return!
Prime Video has just unveiled today the three new stars they have added to the Rings of Power Season 2 roster, which includes Ciarán Hinds (Mance Rayder from Game of Thrones), Rory Kinnear (Bill Tanner in Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre), and Tanya Moodie (General Parnadee from Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker). Although the three new actors have been confirmed to be a part of Season 2, their specific roles have yet to be specified publicly, as of writing.

This is a first for Rings of Power to include actors who have played notable roles in various franchises they took part in. See, Rings of Power Season 1 clearly depicts that the show is more focused on bringing characters to life by hiring new or relatively unknown actors for their respective roles.
But it seems that Rings of Power Season 2 has now taken a bigger turn! Previously, the show even added The Sandman’s William Chubb and Game of Thrones / Shadow and Bone / Doctor Who actor Kevin Eldon. This could only mean one thing: the Rings of Power series might not be getting shelved for a long time.
Given the bigger ensemble prepared for Season 2’s events, it is likely that the showrunners are also expecting the series to run a good race on the streaming platform, especially with Sauron now showing his true colors after the ending of Rings of Power Season 1.
