Evangeline Lilly continues to fight the power as she has come out and admitted that she was cornered into doing a nude scene back in her days working as Kate on Lost. This has prompted an apology from the producers of the show who have released a statement to Entertainment Tonight.
They say:
"Our response to Evie's comments in the media was to immediately reach out to her to profoundly apologize for the experience she detailed while working on Lost. We have not yet connected with her, but remain deeply and sincerely sorry. No person should ever feel unsafe at work. Period."
Lilly had said previously during an appearance in The Lost Boys podcast:
"In season 3, I'd had a bad experience on set with being basically cornered into doing a scene partially naked, and I felt had no choice in the matter. And I was mortified and I was trembling, and when it finished, I was crying my eyes out and had to go on and do a very formidable, very strong scene thereafter."
No doubt, with Ant-Man and the Wasp putting her on the spotlight, Lilly has made some very bold moves in the name of Feminism. Besides coming out with her experience on the show, she has also called men out for complaining about uncomfortable costumes, saying that women are used to discomfort all the time, and they don't complain as much as the men.
While Marvel is busy trying to peddle Captain Marvel as the lead woman hero in the MCU, I think they should bank in on Lilly's Wasp being a role model for little girls. Besides having a kick-ass character, Lilly manages to match it up with her feisty attitude behind the scenes as well.
Catch Lilly in Ant-Man and the Wasp now in theaters.
