Lord of the Rings: Outlander Star Sam Heughan Wants to Join The Rings of Power Season 2


Sam Heughan might be best known for his work on the historical drama Outlander but it looks like the Bloodshot star is eager to take the leap into Middle-Earth. Heughan has just admitted that he is hoping to be cast in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2, and he already knows what role he should play.

In a recent interview with Edinburgh News, Sam Heughan confessed that he wants to continue working in the fantasy genre, singling out The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power as the one show he wants to be part of.

“I’m still desperate to be an elf or a dwarf,” Heughan said. “So if The Rings of Power are still casting, I’m available! I’ve even got a ginger wig if they’re interested.”

When told that he would make an excellent elf, Sam Heughan was pleased and continued to express his eagerness for being in The Rings of Power Season 2.

“You might see in the future,” he teased. “It was a lot of fun.”

It's no surprise that Sam Heughan is hoping to be part of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. At this point, we're not sure which role would fit him better but it would be a great treat for Outlander fans if Heughan gets cast in the prequel show.

We already know that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has been renewed for a second season but the premise of Season 2 has no t yet been revealed. If anything, we are expecting Halbrand, who has now confirmed that he is Sauron, will be making himself at home in Mordor. Meanwhile, The Stranger, who is clearly Gandalf, is on a journey with Nori to Rhun to discover more about his own identity.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date.
