The second season finale of Loki ended on a satisfying and conclusive note since it saw the titular character take over He Who Remains' place and become the God of Stories to safeguard all the branches across the multiverse as the multiversal war is about to get unleashed.

Fans felt that it was a fitting conclusion for the character's journey in the MCU that started in Thor and they believed that the series won't likely get a third season given how the story ended.

However, there are still some fans who are wondering whether the character will ever return in the future, especially in a project like Avengers: Secret Wars where it is plausible for this variant of Loki to return.

Now, the actor behind the beloved character has finally addressed the question in the aftermath of the finale and it looks like we can still count on his return soon.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Loki star Tom Hiddleston teased that his iconic character might still make his MCU return in the future despite the conclusion of his journey in the second season finale.

"It's so hard because I'll be completely honest with you, Brandon, I have at least twice in my life said goodbye," he said.

"I've written to Kevin Feige and Louis de Esposito and Victoria Alonso and been like, 'Thank you so much. It's been like the role of a lifetime,' and they've written notes back saying, 'Come and see us anytime. You're always part of the family. We're always here. You've given us so much and tears have been shared.'"

The actor concluded, "So I think I'd be unwise at this point to be conclusive about any of it."

As Hiddleston pointed out, his character has already met his demise in the past and yet he was still brought back to play a different variant of the character in the series so a return is still likely despite already ending his journey.

While the character is now staying eternally at the End of Time, he is still very much alive and they could bring him back if they want to. He could also return through a different variant thanks to the possibility of the multiverse.

For now, let's wait and see how it will all unfold in the coming months or years, but if he does return, fans will definitely be happy about it.
