The second season finale of Loki ended on an emotional note as it found the titular character becoming the God of Stories and safeguarding all the branches of the multiverse at the End of Time.
It was definitely a satisfying closure for Loki's arc in the series after several years of following his journey throughout the MCU, even if it wasn't exactly a happy ending, and he made the sacrifice to save all the lives including his friends in the TVA.
However, the finale didn't feature any post-credits scene which surprised some fans since there were expectations that they might tease an upcoming project like Deadpool 3 where the TVA is rumored to be prominently featured.
So why did the series decide to skip that MCU tradition? Now, we have the answer.

Loki Producer Kevin Wright Reveals Why the Season 2 Finale Has No Post-Credits Scene
In an interview with TVLine, Loki executive producer Kevin Wright revealed why the second season finale did not feature any post-credits scene. He explained that they have no plans at all to do any stinger since it "would have just taken away" from the impact of the finale.
"We didn’t write any [post-credits scenes], and we certainly didn’t shoot any," he said.
"A lot of people want these things to feel like contained stories. I know some people like the bigger interconnectedness. I think that’s also sometimes becoming a hindrance to some of our stories. For us, it was story closed, that was it."
Wright also addressed the Variety article regarding how Marvel is "truly f*cked" about the future of Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror due to what was being set up in the finale.
"That report was crazy. I’ll just say that," he told the outlet with a laugh. "That just shows you, I don’t know what people are talking about."
He added by insisting that no changes were made due to Majors' current legal issues and "the story that is on screen is the one that we set out to make."
As Wright said, the series was intended to be a standalone story which is why there was not tease for another project in the end, and opted for a more self-contained story even if it has some ramifications across the MCU.
Based on the reception of the finale, it looked like the series did not need any post-credits scenes as fans were already satisfied with the conclusion itself. It still worked out in the end which is what matters regardless of a tradition or not.
