The second season finale of Loki saw Loki finally finding his glorious purpose by becoming the God of Stories and taking over the place of He Who Remains as he is now holding all the branched timelines under his watch.

While it was wonderful to see his heroic turn, it also meant that he had to sacrifice himself as he is now sitting on the throne eternally without seeing his friends again although the final shot suggested that he is contented with his place.

There is no doubt that this is a massive turn and character development for Loki. While it is unknown yet whether that was the last time that we're seeing him in the MCU, at the very least, he will forever have an existence.

There was no doubt that it was an exciting turn for the character since we never thought that he'd become one of the greatest heroes in the MCU coming from being one of its most memorable villains.

It also felt like a closure for the character's journey throughout the franchise. While we don't yet whether there will be a third season or not, it does feel like a series finale due to how it all unfolded and, if it was the show's actual ending, it was an appropriate one.

Now, all we can look forward to is what will happen next in the Multiverse Saga since it also led to the multiversal war which will be a pivotal story in the MCU in the coming years and it's interesting to see whether Loki will be able to assist on that.

All episodes of Loki are available to stream on Disney+.
