We're approaching the finale of Marvel Studios' Loki and the surprises keep coming. But out of all the things we learned in Episode 5, the most stunning revelation has something to do with Loki's actual fate following his "death" in Avengers: Infinity War.

We've seen Loki cheat (or fake) his death on several occasions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but Infinity War seemed to have put an end to his tricks as he was choked to death by Thanos and we all saw his gruesome demise right before our eyes.

However, Loki's latest episode may have given us hope about the future of the God of Mischief in the main MCU timeline. In Episode 5 titled "Journey Into Mystery", Laufeyson found himself transported to a place called the Void after being pruned by Ravonna Renslayer. There, he meets several variant versions of himself, including Kid Loki, Alligator Loki, Boastful Loki, and Classic Loki which is a nod to the character's comic book roots, complete with the goofy costume.

According to Classic Loki, was able to survive Thanos' attack in 2017 after casting a projection of himself that seemed so real, the Mad Titan bought into it thinking that he killed the anti-hero. This, of course, comes as a huge shocker considering the TVA said that Loki's fate was already set in stone, meaning that all possible iterations of him would have fallen to their death at the hands of Thanos.

Of course, Classic Loki and the Loki we all know and love are two completely different iterations of the character but if Classic Loki was able to survive Thanos' onslaught which resulted in a lot of Asgardian casualties, then there's an actual chance that the Loki from the main MCU timeline did the same and for all we know, he's just lurking somewhere, waiting for the right time to return.

The latest episode of Loki is now streaming on Disney+.
