Loki Episode 5: All The Awesome Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

The penultimate episode of Loki is here and as expected, there are more Easter Eggs to find. However, Loki Episode 5 is extra special considering that it's set in a location where Easter Eggs go in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With that in mind, we've rounded up all the cool things you may or may not have missed in Journey Into Mystery.

WARNING: The following contains SPOILERS from Loki Episode 5 so PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

Let's start with the Loki Episode 5 title. It might sound like the title Journey into Mystery doesn't exactly fit with what happened in the episode. However, it's actually a reference to the comic book where Loki and Thor debuted back in 1952. Journey Into Mystery #85 even featured the God of Mischief on the cover.

Interestingly, Classic Loki's costume is also a tribute to the same issue. The green and yellow suit worn by Richard E. Grant's character honors Loki's more whimsical roots.

Speaking of Grant, Classic Loki also referenced an Avengers: Infinity War fan theory. While talking about his nexus event, Classic Loki revealed that he had tricked Thanos into thinking he had killed the real Loki but actually hiding as "inanimate debris."

Sadly, he then spent years living on a remote planet before deciding it was time to look for Thor. When he did, he was immediately captured by the TVA.

Since we already mentioned Thanos, the Thanos-Copter can be spotted in the background as the Variants made their way back to their lair. This could have been useful when getting the Infinity Stones.

Another awesome Easter Egg found outside the lair was Mjolnir along with a frog wearing a cape. That's no ordinary frog, though. His name is Throg, the Frog of Thunder. In the comics, he is originally Simon Walterson, who was turned into a frog by a witch.

The Void also had huge Easter Eggs and I mean massive. There is a brief shot of a gigantic Yellowjacket helmet that was worn by Darren Cross in the first Ant-Man movie. Another shot offers a glimpse at Ronan the Accuser's destroyed ship Dark Aster.

President Loki was a clear reference to Vote Loki, the comic book storyline that poked fun at the 2016 US Presidential Election.

Are you ready for the big one? It's pretty hard to miss Alioth considering that the cloud-like entity was massive. However, it's the connection between the villain and a certain MCU character that could reveal what happens next in the series.

In the comics, Alioth was the one entity that prevented Kang the Conqueror from expanding his dominion and Kang even created a barrier preventing Alioth from crossing over to Kang's territory. That same barrier was accidentally destroyed by Ravonna Renslayer, unleashing Alioth into the world.

Alioth's presence along with Renslayer playing a major role in Loki pretty much teases Kang's involvement in the series. It could mean that Kang might be the one controlling TVA all this time. However, we'll have to wait until next week to find out for sure.

So far, these are the Easter Eggs we have spotted in Loki Episode 5. Keep checking this page for updates.
