Loki Director Kate Herron Will NOT Return for Season 2

The first season of Loki has just concluded but people are already looking forward to what will happen next. After all, Loki Season 2 has already been confirmed and everyone is expected to return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

Unfortunately, it looks like one important person will not be back in the second season. Director Kate Herron has revealed that she will not be returning to helm new episodes of the show.

There is little doubt that Herron did an excellent job on the first six episodes of Loki. Each episode was done with the right amount of action, mystery, humor, and style. With that in mind, it would be great to see more of Herron's work in Loki Season 2. However, the filmmaker told Deadline she is only confirmed for Season 1.

"I'm not returning," Herron said. "I always planned to be just on for this and, to be honest, Season 2 wasn't in the — that's something that just came out and I'm so excited."

Herron continued by stating that she is already looking forward to the second season as a viewer. Additionally, she is busy with some projects of her own.

"I'm really happy to watch it as a fan next season, but I just think I'm proud of what we did here and I've given it my all. I'm working on some other stuff yet to be announced," Herron said.

It's disappointing to know that Herron will no longer be on board for Loki Season 2. After all, we loved everything that she did for the first season. On the other hand, we are also looking forward to the new director who will be helming the next chapter of the God of Mischief's story.

All episodes of Loki are now streaming on Disney+. Loki Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to get another announcement in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
