We're now over a week away before Lightyear goes infinity and beyond its way to theaters. Fans have been excited and curious to see the new Pixar film which will serve as an origin story of Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story series. Is it going to be yet again another hit from Pixar? Did it deliver the same quality as the Toy Story films? Now, we have our first reactions.

Lightyear had its world premiere last Wednesday where critics and journalists got the opportunity to see the film in advance. While they are still under review embargo at the moment, they were allowed to share their social media reactions where they can write their first impressions of the film.

The responses based on the social media reactions so far have been mostly positive. The majority of the praise went to its story, characters, visuals, its science-fiction tone, Chris Evans' voice performance, and Sox the Cat, who is being singled out as the MVP among the ensemble.

Based on these reactions, it looks like Pixar has another winner on their hands and delivered what fans might be hoping for in regards to telling Buzz Lightyear's origin story in epic science-fiction scope. Of course, you might have a different reaction once you see the film. It would also be curious to see if the overall audience response will have the same enthusiastic reaction which could lead to its potential box office success.

The film's logline reads: "The definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, Lightyear follows the legendary Space Ranger after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he’s joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot companion cat, Sox. Complicating matters and threatening the mission is the arrival of Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious agenda."
