From one show to another, she did American Woman, The Lodge and Into the Dark. She then reached international stardom when she was officially introduced as part of the MCU in the 2019 Comic-Con, alongside Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie and Kumail Nanjiani.

She still vividly remembered the day when she received a phone call from Marvel Studios.

“You sort of know when something big is happening because there was my agent, my manager, the casting director — and they never call you to tell you that you didn’t get the role,” she told Teen Vogue. “My mom saw the phone call, and she was freaking out. She accidentally hung up the phone, and they called her right back. She ran into my room and woke me up, and they told me on the phone, and you don’t even understand the amount of things that we were feeling.”

Of course, her dad felt the same way, too. He even started crying when he learned of what was happening.

“It’s probably the most emotional I’ve been in my life,” she revealed.

Starting an acting career five years ago made the young star relate to her character as Sprite in Eternals. She knew the struggle to be taken seriously personally, with the heightened adult expectations.

“I’ve felt very stuck being young—and I feel like a lot of kids feel that way, but I think it’s sort of special to my situation—because I’ve been growing up working with adults, and a lot of my close friends are actually adults,” she continued. “I’ve been told a lot of my life that I am an old soul. I feel that I’m a lot older in my mind than what I look, so I really related to Sprite in that way.”
