Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness promises to be an eventful entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and so far, all we know about the Benedict Cumberbatch project is that the upcoming Disney+ show WandaVision will be responsible for what's about to go down in the film. Judging by the stuff we've already seen from the teasers, Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch could potentially be one of the next threats in Phase 4, and just like in the comics, only Doctor Strange has the might to neutralize her madness.

Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi is set to make his triumphant Marvel return to helm the sequel and it all comes full circle for Raimi who referenced the Sorcerer Supreme in Spider-Man 2. Aside from Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, and Rachel McAdams, we still know very little about the official cast but according to the latest MCU rumor, Raimi could potentially be bringing in the big guns for Doctor Strange 2.

Tipster Daniel Richtman (via Patreon) claims that Marvel Studios is eyeing Leonardo DiCaprio for an undisclosed role in the sequel. The Oscar-winning actor is no stranger to the world of comic book films as he was the original choice to play Spider-Man in James Cameron's canned project from the '90s and since we're talking about the Multiverse, Leo could potentially fulfill his Spidey prophecy but we still don't know for sure.

Last September, we reported that Mission: Impossible actor Tom Cruise is also being considered to play an alternate universe version of Iron Man but as it stands, no official confirmation has been made. It looks like every actor in Hollywood would like to be part of the billion-dollar franchise and why the heck not, right?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will hit cinemas in 2022.
