Learn More About Rey’s Dark Side In New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Blu-Ray Clip

Star Wars: The Last Jedi's getting its Digital HD release next week, and Lucasfilm's busy reminding fans with a string of snippets taken from the film.

One of the videos that the studio's recently released online give fans a better understanding of Rey's (Daisy Ridley) little bout with the Dark Side on Ahch-To. Not only does the clip include behind-the-scenes footage of Rey exploring the Dark Side cave on Luke's (Mark Hamill) planet, but it also features a few interviews with Ridley as well.

"She doesn't see herself as this thing," says Ridley. "People talk about her potential and all this stuff, and she says, you know, 'I'm scared about what I'm feeling.' What I always loved about her is that she tries to see the good in things and she's hopeful. And she hopes that what she thinks is there, is there."

Rey's seemingly empty origin has always been the Jakku orphan's inner struggle and though many hoped to learn that Rey might come Star Wars legacy characters like Luke or Obi-Wan Kenobi, the film opted to move away from the "chosen one" narrative of the franchise.

It's an interesting course, taking away the trappings of fatalism and teaching viewers that you don't need to be special to incite change.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi get its Digital HD release on March 13 and its Blu-Ray and DVD release on March 27.
