LE SSERAFIM Sakura opened up about the story of her estranged father attending her fan meeting.
Before Sakura became part of LE SSERAFIM, she first rose to fame as a member of the Japanese idol girl groups HKT48 and AKB48. She also debuted with IZ*ONE after participating in Produce 48.
Among all the fan meetings she had so far, the one where she met her estranged father became the most memorable so far.

LE SSERAFIM Sakura Details 1st Meeting With Estranged Father
Sakura opened up about the encounter during her appearance on JTBC’s Knowing Bros alongside her bandmate, Kim Chaewon.
When asked to reveal the most memorable encounter she ever had with a fan, she emotionally recalled the time she met her father for the first time through a fan event.
Sakura disclosed that her parents got divorced when she was one year old. From there, she had never seen not met her father. She also did not know what he looked like since she never had a picture of him.

“But when I held my first handshake event back in my hometown [in Japan], this man came and told me that he was rooting for me. And as soon as we shook hands, I knew, ‘This is my dad.’ I felt it right away,” she said.
Her father reportedly told her that he had been cheering her since her debut. She then saw her grandmother after the man, asking her if she no longer remembers them.
Sakura went on to reveal that she never saw her father again after the fan meeting.
Sakura Comments on Debuting For 3rd Time
Aside from meeting her father, Sakura also got her chance to debut again.
During her new girl group’s debut on May 2, she revealed that she began to feel a lot of pressure because of her new journey.
“I wanted to do well, and even felt a bit of fear. But I believe pressure is what makes people keep growing,” she expressed, per Korea JoongAng Daily.
As of press time, Sakura’s girl group has been successful following the release of their debut EP, FEARLESS.
