Law & Order fans, brace yourselves for an epic crossover event between Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime. The upcoming finale is set to air on May 18, and the new trailer released reveals that Olivia Benson's (Mariska Hargitay) life is on the line.

While the franchise's future is secure, with NBC renewing both SVU and Organized Crime, the latest episode concludes with some major characters in harm's way, especially Captain Benson.

The Law & Order Crossover Event

The special two-hour crossover event, titled All Pain Is One Malady, begins with Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and the team on the hunt for "one of the most prolific mass murderers in American history." As if that wasn't enough, the trailer also teases a moment where Benson could be seriously hurt.

Kelli Giddish continues her guest appearance as Rollins, which began in Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 3.

The Continuation

The crossover event is a continuation of the story that began with Rollins appearing in Shadowërk, where Stabler and Benson expose a revenge-for-hire scheme on the dark web. The team is now searching for the anonymous creator, and Stabler enlists Professor Rollins for help with a key clue.

These events carry over into the SVU episode and also serve as its season finale.

According to SpoilerTV, the search for the revenge-for-hire crime ring continues in All Pain Is One Malady. Benson and Stabler join forces to tackle the case, which has now spread globally. Meanwhile, Fin (Ice-T) and Bruno (Kerry Lane) help a sexually abused victim who has been assaulted a second time.

However, Jet's (Ainsley Seiger) plan to hack the dark web backfires and puts the team in danger.

The Organized Crime Season Finale

After SVU, the Organized Crime portion of the crossover event, titled With Many Names, doubles as OC's season finale. Stabler and Benson are benched by the U.S. Attorney at a crucial moment, just as they're closing in on their target.

Rollins, on the other hand, confronts a witness who refuses to cooperate. The season finale promises to be a busy send-off for the Law & Order audience.

Law & Order fans can look forward to an action-packed crossover event between SVU and Organized Crime. While the franchise's future is secure, the finale episode leaves fans on the edge of their seats with some major characters in harm's way.

Don't miss the season finale of Law & Order: SVU and Organized Crime on May 18.
