The sequel to this year's Death of Superman animated movie, fans are pretty excited for next year's Reign of the Supermen animated feature. Like the previous movie, it will take concepts from the 90's crossover but add some new elements to it. From what can be seen, the Justice League play a much bigger role here than they did in the comics and we'll even see all four of these Superman replacements team up for a massive battle against invading aliens.

However, the trailer also does something pretty inexcusable; reveal that Superman is alive.
Fans who are familiar with the character probably knew he wasn't going to be dead forever but since this isn't a panel-for-panel remake of the comic book, we could have suspended our belief for a little while. Still, now we know that Cyborg Superman probably isn't the real Superman so that's kind of disappointing.
Spoiling the ending aside, Reign of the Supermen does look like another solid effort from DC's animation department. Character designs for Steel, Superboy (call him the Metropolis Kid), the Eradicator, and Cyborg Superman look pretty great. While the Justice League are still rocking their War attires, they're far from bad looks for these iconic heroes.
No release date for Reign of the Supermen has been released, though it is slated for a Blu-Ray and digital release sometime in 2019.
