Laid-Back Camp Season 3 Confirmed

After the Japanese theatrical run of the recent anime movie, Season 3 of the Laid-Back Camp TV anime has just been confirmed.

Specifically, the upcoming season of this relaxing slice-of-life anime was confirmed in an announcement made through the show’s website and official Twitter account.

Along with the announcement, an illustration featuring three of the series’ characters was shared.

Laid-Back Camp: A Fan-Favorite Anime

In case you’re unfamiliar, Laid-Back Camp (also known as Yuru Camp in Japanese) is a slice-of-life anime series by anime studio C-Station, the studio behind other shows such as Dragonar Academy and Star-Myu.

The anime is based on the ongoing manga series of the same name that’s written and illustrated by Afro.

The manga began serialization in Manga Time Kirara Forward in July 2015, though its publication was moved to Comic Fuz in 2019.

Its anime adaptation began with the first season which was composed of 12 episodes and aired between January and March 2018. This was followed by a second season which consisted of 13 episodes and aired in the Winter 2021 season.

As for its story, the series follows Rin Shima, a high school girl whose hobby is to camp by herself. Soon, she meets Nadeshiko Kagamihara who asks her to join the school’s camping club.

Rin soon joins the club, and together with Nadeshiko and other camping club members, the group travels through Japan to camp in various locations.

As its title implies, Laid-Back Camp is a chill and relaxing anime as each episode follows the group of girls as they set up the camp, eat food, and enjoy the scenery.

Given its popularity, an anime film entitled Laid-Back Camp: Movie was released in Japan on July 1, 2022.

The movie features an original story and follows the main cast who are now grown up as they reunite and build a campsite.

Laid-Back Camp Season 3 Release Date

The new illustration by Afro that was released to mark the Season 3 announcement features three of the show’s main cast members, including Rin and Nadeshiko.

Alongside the illustration, a short message by the series creator was also shared.

There, they revealed that they didn’t expect the series to get to the third season and even get a movie.

Aside from these, there aren’t any details yet regarding the upcoming season.

However, given that the first and second seasons have a three-year gap, it’s possible that Laid-Back Camp Season 3 might release sometime in 2024.
