MCU fans have been waiting for Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter to come back to the franchise. Despite the actress’s subtle hints about her return and the online rumors about her involvement in Daredevil: Born Again, nothing is set in stone yet because of Marvel Studios.
On Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, Ritter commented on the possibility of her returning to the shoes of the titular hero. She remarked that she is open to coming back, but Marvel has yet to contact her about it.
“I have no idea; I hope so! I think that people love Jessica; I know because I live it. Marvel is so secretive - I am just putting that out there that, of course, I would be there in a second. I would have my boots and jacket ready to rock.” she said.
Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal are returning as their respective Defenders in Daredevil: Born Again, so what’s stopping Marvel from bringing Ritter aboard? There’s been speculation that the actress is being replaced because of a scheduling conflict.

“Basically, ‘Born Again’ is re-introducing the Netflix characters to the mainstream, and they planned to bring in Ritter, but there’s a scheduling problem for ‘Born Again’. So they needed another Netflix star to fill the role. It’s Jon Bernthal. Wouldn’t be shocked if Ritter cameos tho.” host Tom Smith revealed on the Cape Time podcast.
However, other reports suggest that the Echo series will see Cox and Ritter reprising their roles en route to Daredevil: Born Again, a reboot series that is expected to feature Jessica Jones in a supporting role.
As he builds his allies, Jessica is reported as the team member Daredevil was searching for throughout Echo season 1. According to an industry insider, “Daredevil [in his Echo appearances] is looking for Jessica Jones,” adding that “they're laying the groundwork to bring back Ritter.”
As of now, nothing has been confirmed, and everyone is just waiting for the fans and Ritter to get the Jessica Jones comeback that they deserve.
