Konami Code Creator Who Made Contra Easier for Everyone Has Passed Away

Before they started selling out and caring about pachinko machines, Konami was a pretty great video game publisher. They released some killer titles back in the day and fans will always look back fondly at the old memories these games would give us. Contra was one of Konami's best games back in the day and was incredibly hard but we did have the "Konami Code," which gave your character 30 lives.

The code, which can be seen below, was a literal lifesaver for some so it's really sad to report about the death of Kazuhisa Hashimoto, the man who created the Konami Code. We've all been pretty choked up about it and the fact that he made such a fun game easier, at least when it comes to multiplayer, should be commended.

If fans want to pay tribute to Hashimoto-San, they can always pick up the Contra Classic Collections on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The code should still work on the original Contra, which should make a lot of people happy. We're definitely going to miss Kazuhisa Hashimoto, who leaves a big legacy of quality games under his belt.

Rest in peace friend! If only there was a way to give you 30 lives so that things wouldn't be so grim all the time, especially with Contra.
