It has been a long time since we got any updates on Knights of the Zodiac. Luckily, we got some cool details about the film at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. In addition to that, the behind-the-scenes footage that was shared during the film's panel has been released online.
The Knights of the Zodiac panel at SDCC 2022 took place on Saturday, July 23, 2022. The panel was attended by most of the cast and crew including Madison Iseman, Diego Tinoco, director Tomasz Baginski, and stunt coordinator Andy Chen. During the panel, a behind-the-scenes look was shared showing how the actors prepared for their roles in the movie.
The behind-the-scenes video has since been released online and it offers our first glimpse at Mackenyu as Seiya, the title hero of Masami Kurumada's successful manga series. Although the Rurouni Kenshin: The Final star was not in attendance at SDCC 2022 (he is currently filming for Netflix's live-action One Piece show), he recorded a special video thanking fans for their support.
There were a lot of awesome updates at the film's SDCC 2022 panel. It was confirmed that Knights of the Zodiac will premiere next year. In addition to that, there are plans to develop six movies in total (via Variety). With that in mind, it sounds like we'll be seeing a lot of Seiya after Pegasus rises next year.
Knights of the Zodiac will also star Sean Bean, Famke Janssen, Nick Stahl, and Mark Dacascos. The film will follow Mackenyu's Seiya as he goes on a journey to conquer the ancient Greek armor of Pegasus with the help of Sean Bean's Alman Kiddo.
For now, Knights of the Zodiac has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
