Fans are already aware that Game of Thrones Season 8 will have a truly lengthy battle where several main characters could end up dead. But just how intense is the so-called Battle of Winterfell? According to Kit Harington, it was so excruciating that cast members were ready to murder each other just to get it done.
Harington was recently a guest on the Graham Norton Show where he spoke about the grueling battle sequence that took 55 days to shoot. The Game of Thrones Season 8 actor revealed that the battle, which is expected to take up almost an entire hour of one episode, made his co-stars feel a little murderous (via LadBible).
"I'm not sure I should tell you about it, but it was so intense we were all on the edge of killing each other," Harington said to Norton. He then added that he was concerned that maybe the show had gone too far.
"They have really upped the budget and gone to town - it is really exciting. There are some incredible sequences, but I've woken up in the middle of the night recently thinking, 'What if, after eight seasons, we've have mucked it up'," he said.
The Battle of Winterfell is expected to take place in the third episode of Game of Thrones Season 8, which also happens to be the longest episode in the final season. Needless to say, fans will need to prepare for one of the most brutal battle scenes ever filmed pretty early on in the final season.
Game of Thrones Season 8 will air on HBO on April 14.
