Kit Harington And Emilia Clarke Say Game Of Thrones Season 8 Filming Was 'More Intense'

Working on Game of Thrones is certainly an experience that nobody would easily forget. However, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke have revealed that Season 8 is "relentless" and "more intense."

The stars of Game of Thrones Season 8 recently posed for the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Interestingly, Harington revealed that filming the final season was somehow more difficult despite having only six episodes to shoot.

"It's relentless; scenes that would have been a one-day shoot five years ago are now a five-day shoot," Harington confessed. "They want to get it right, they want to shoot everything every single way so they have options."

Harington isn't the only one who had a hard time on the eighth season. Clarke admitted that it took more time to perfect each shot.

"[Camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it.' Everything feels more intense," she said.

There's a good reason why production took a bit longer with the final season. It's possible that the crew had to shoot different sequences to hide the true ending of the show. In addition to that, each episode is expected to be much longer than its predecessors in the previous seasons.

But what will happen to Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones Season 8? There are theories that the two will end up together and even have a child. Others believe that the Mother of Dragons might suffer a tragic fate in the season finale. Either way, there is little doubt that the series intends to conclude with a big bang.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will air on HBO in mid-2019.
