Pyeong-hwa and Ro-woon’s Romance in King the Land Explained
Pyeong-hwa and Ro-woon both work as flight attendants at King Air. Throughout the series, it’s clear that Ro-woon has a crush on Pyeong-hwa.
He defends Pyeong-hwa from her workmates. He even goes to Thailand just to see her. However, Pyeong-hwa initially rejects his feelings.
When she does so, Ro-woon responds that Pyeong-hwa can do whatever she wants, while he will do what his heart tells him to do.
It turns out, Pyeong-hwa is a divorced woman, and this is something she has been hiding. Years ago, Pyeong-hwa’s ex registered their marriage in secret when she broke up with him.
While Pyeong-hwa only filled out the marriage form as a joke for their 100th-day anniversary, her ex actually had the marriage registered. As she could not have the marriage canceled, divorce was the only option.
Pyeong-hwa has been hiding the fact that she had been divorced so that her past would not affect her career. But unfortunately, one of her nosy workmates who happens to like Ro-woon reveals this fact to everyone.
While her being divorced explains why she initially does not accept Ro-woon's feelings, the latter is not affected by her past.
When it is revealed that Pyeong-hwa’s ex is actually the pilot who’s been hitting on her, Ro-woon warns Captain No Byeong-gu that if he messes with her again, he will no longer sit back.
Do Pyeong-hwa and Ro-woon End Up Together?
Pyeong-hwa and Ro-woon end up together in King the Land. They finally get together in Episode 15.
After Pyeong-hwa confronts Captain No at the airport, Ro-woon takes her to a faraway place where she could disappear for a while. Pyeong-hwa wonders why Ro-woon isn’t asking her questions, and the latter responds that it’s all in the past.
Ro-woon emphasizes that he is not interested in the “Pyeong-hwa of the past”, but the one in the present. He adds that he will be Pyeong-hwa’s umbrella when the rain falls. Pyeong-hwa and Ro-woon then share a kiss.
Later on, they reveal to Mr. No and Da-eul that they are already dating.
In the finale, we see that both of them are happy together as a couple. They visit the grave of Ro-woon’s mother, and Ro-woon introduces Pyeong-hwa as his girlfriend.
He adds that Pyeong-hwa is pretty and has a big heart. Pyeong-hwa holds Ro-woon’s hand and tells his mother that they will be happy together for a long time.
Pyeong-hwa and Ro-woon then attend Sa-rang and Gu Won’s wedding together. And maybe, in a few years, they will be the ones who will get married next?
