The new monarch hit back at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in an unexpected way. Instead of removing their titles and despite the calls from the public not to invite them to his coronation, he reportedly did the opposite.

King Charles is inviting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to his coronation. He also plans to mention them in his first Christmas speech to the nation, according to Daniela Elser, royal commentator for, Express reported.

"Various British publications started to throw out stories speculating about whether titles should be stripped and the Fleet Street clucking grew louder and louder. Would the King, Henry VIII-style, after a long lunch and in the mood for a new wife, come out swinging? Oh no."

Instead, "His Majesty has reportedly invited none other than his son and daughter-in-law Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex to his coronation next May," Elser claimed.

She also cited a report from The Telegraph, claiming King Charles would send an invitation to the Sussexes to his coronation. A source also told the outlet, "All members of the family will be welcome."

Another source claimed that His Majesty didn't want to be petty.

"Stripping their title is not something the king would likely ever consider ... mostly because it would be too petty and punitive," an anonymous source told Page Six. "It would only lead to the Sussexes claiming it was a retaliatory action and proof they were never wanted in the royal family."

Palace Reportedly Made A Brilliant Response To Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Claims On Harry & Meghan

Aside from extending an invitation, Elser noted how the palace simply ignored all the allegations from the Sussexes. Even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn't get the response they probably expected. According to the royal commentator, the palace's "no response-response" was brilliant.

"The brilliance in the Palace's no response-response is that it directly counters the Sussexes' characterisation of the royal family as a ruthless bunch hellbent on the monarchy's survival, no matter the human cost," she continued. "Here Charles is, still wanting his younger son to be a part of his coronation, even though his boy now seems to attack the monarchy for a living."

Queen Elizabeth's former spokesperson and British journalist Dickie Arbiter, also noticed how the palace simply ignored the Sussexes. According to the royal expert, the public should not expect to hear back from the royal family.

"The palace is not going to respond," he said on Today.

"They're not going to contribute to the narrative that's laid down by the Sussexes because that is just fighting fire with fire and nothing can be gained from that because it's a case of he says, she says, she says, he says, so nothing's going to be gained from that."
