The new Kimi ni Todoke season came as a surprise for many as it has been over a decade since its last season aired. To further hype it up for its 2024 release, Netflix shared a special Kimi ni Todoke Season 3 video that features brand-new footage.

Netflix shared the video on its official Anime YouTube channel. It’s not exactly a trailer as it’s a 13-minute showcase that recaps some of the biggest events of the previous two seasons.

With this, long-time fans can relive the show’s iconic moments before the anime makes its long-awaited return.

More Previous Cast Members Return for New Kimi ni Todoke Season

As a beloved romance anime of the 2000s, many long-time anime fans were excited about the Kimi ni Todoke Season 3 announcement. What’s more, the show is also bringing back its original cast, as well as its original studio.

Production I.G (of Kaiju No. 8 and Haikyu! fame) is working on this series. It was also confirmed that Noto Mamiko and Daisuke Namikawa are returning as the VAs of Sawako Kuronuma and Shouta Kazehaya, respectively.

Now, more new cast members have been confirmed to return, many of whom are popular VAs. They include:

  • Miyuki Sawashiro (Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter) as Ayane Yano
  • Yuko Sanpei (Boruto in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) as Chizuru Yoshida
  • Yuichi Nakamura (Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen) as Ryu Sanada
  • Mamoru Miyano (Light Yagami in Death Note) as Kento Miura
  • Yuki Ono (Josuke Higashikata in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) as Kazuichi Arai
  • Aya Hirano (Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) as Ume Kurumizawa

Netflix Shares Kimi ni Todoke Recap Video For Season 3

This upcoming season will be streamed on Netflix. Even though its release isn’t in sight yet, Netflix is already hyping the series up with a special promo video.

The video is a highlight of some of the series’ most iconic moments, interspersed with new animated scenes depicting the characters’ reactions to the memorable scenes.

It might not feature a proper look at the upcoming scenes from the third season, but it is a great tribute for long-time fans. Plus, it can also serve as a nice refresher given how long it has been since Season 2.

For now, there’s no word yet on when Kimi ni Todoke Season 3 will be released, though it’s confirmed to be streamed worldwide on Netflix.
