Kim Woo Seok made a successful TV series debut through Bulgasal.
The tvN series, which features Lee Jin Wook and Kwon Nara, tells the story of a woman who remembers her past lives. She is able to do so by repeating her deaths and going through a reincarnation. Meanwhile, a 600-year-old man lives as a Bulgasal – a creature cursed with immortality.
The K-pop idol landed on Nam Do Yoon’s role, a high school student who follows Lee Jin Wook’s character, Dan Hwal. In the end of the series, he was introduced as the reincarnation of Dan Hwal’s son.

Kim Woo Seok Shares Struggles in Playing Bulgasal Character
Kim Woo Seok recently graced the pages of Allure Korea and sat for an interview with the magazine.
During the discussion, he shared what struggles he faced while playing his role in Bulgasal. According to the K-pop star, his character Nam Do Yoon has a bright personality – something he does not have.
Thus, he found it challenging to play the role.

“Although, as the drama continues, he becomes more of a pained character. I worried a lot about how to win over the viewers, and it was tough. Now that I think of it, I feel quite a bit of sadness. At first, I couldn’t completely understand who Do Yoon was. It was only during the final stage of filming that I was able to truly understand his feelings,” he said.
In the end, he reportedly has no regrets as they wrapped the filming safely. On top of that, Kim Woo Seok grew better as an actor because of the acting experience.
Kim Woo Seok Changed Appearance For Bulgasal
As an idol, Kim Woo Seok has maintained the top-tier visuals that made fans love him even more. From his debut with UP10TION until his time with X1, Kim Woo Seok has been known for being one of the faces of the two groups.
But for Bulgasal, he has to change his appearance and put blood on his face to perfectly offering his character to the viewers.
“I know that I’m escaping that image when my face is bloody or a little ugly, but I’m fine with it. It’s nice to be safely inside my soft and pretty image, but I’m also not afraid of breaking out of it,” he went on.
Kim Woo Seok still has not updated the fans about his potential dramas, but people knew he instantly became a mature actor because of Bulgasal.
