From rising star, Kim Seon Ho solidified his name in the industry and became one of the most sought-after leading stars.
The year 2020 gave the actor a chance to prove his impeccable acting skills after landing the second lead, Han Ji Pyeong, in the mega-hit Kdrama Start-Up.
In the rom-com series, his character portrayed the young CEO who is searching to find the next big thing in e-commerce. He worked alongside singer-actress Bae Suzy and Nam Joo Hyuk, sending fans into a frenzy with their love triangle.
Interestingly, Start-Up is where the actor gained the moniker “K-drama’s good boy” because he was referred to as a “good boy” by Choi Won Deok, played by veteran actress Kim Hae Sook.
A year later, fans rejoiced after the 35-year-old star confirmed to join Hallyu star Shin Min Ah in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.
Dubbing the duo as “dimple couple,” tvN’s healing Kdrama became a huge success and once again skyrocketed the actor’s fame.
Unfortunately, after the series wrapped up its season finale, the 35-year-old star became a subject of controversy.
Kim Seon Ho Controversy
In October 2021, the actor faced a wave of backlash after an anonymous post circulated in online communities noting that an unnamed actor “manipulated her into getting an abortion under false pretenses” and was poorly treated after the abortion.
At the time, several media outlets claimed that it was Kim Seon Ho. Shortly after, the actor issued an apology through his agency, SALT Entertainment.
As obtained by Soompi, the Start-Up star apologized for hurting the ex-girlfriend due to his “carelessness and inconsiderate actions.”
Did the Controversy Affect Kim Seon Ho’s Net Worth?
At the height of the issue, brands and even shows and upcoming projects dropped the actor from their endorsement and cast lineup.
In November, he officially left the KBS’ variety show 2 Days & 1 Night and was removed from movies Dog Days and 2 O’Clock Date. Kim Seon Ho’s only upcoming project left was the Sad Tropics.
With his supposedly new projects going down the drain, it is safe to say that he did not only lose a lot of opportunities but a big chunk of money.
According to tvshowstars.com, Kim Seon Ho’s net worth is estimated at $1 to $5 million.
With a continued variety show and three lineup movies, it is safe to say that he might earn more this 2022.
