Kim Sejeong has been one of the most successful idol actresses in the industry.

After the disbandment of gugudan, Kim Sejeong has been doing a great job in the acting industry as she tries a new journey. Even after leaving her idol life, she maintains her God Sejeong nickname as she lands on several dramas and becomes the producers’ top choice to star in the flick.

While Business Proposal has continued to enjoy high ratings since its premiere, Kim Sejeong has already landed a new role in an upcoming SBS drama.

Kim Sejeong To Lead Korean Remake of Sleepeeer Hit!

On Friday, Korean news outlets confirmed that the former gugudan member would play the lead role in the SBS drama, Today’s Webtoon.

The series will serve as the remake of the hit Japanese drama in 2016, Sleepeeer Hit!. It will tell the story of a former judo athlete who decides to be part of the webtoon editorial department. But the character faces no smooth path in becoming a true webtoon editor.

For the remake, it will focus on the nature of the industry in South Korea.

Kim Sejeong has been tapped to play the role of the rookie contract employee, On Ma Eum. She quit her life as an athlete after suffering a torn ankle ligament following a tragic accident. Despite that, she will show her fighting spirit in order to progress in her career.

Kim Sejeong Might Work With Nam Yoon Su

Nam Yoon Su reportedly received an offer to play the male counterpart of Kim Sejeong’s character. Previously, Na In Woo was already in talks for the role but was not able to accept the offer due to conflicts.

The actor’s agency, Garten, said that their artist was indeed offered to appear in the drama. However, he was still carefully reviewing the offer when the company release the statement.

Once he agrees, it would be a great addend to the list of his dramas, including The King’s Affection and Beyond Evil.
