Kim Chul Min Dead At 54
Kim Chul Min kept his fans updated through his social media accounts. In one post (via Korea Times), he revealed that the cancer cells spread throughout his body that he thought he only had months to live after learning his stage four diagnosis that year.
But he kept his head high that he surprised his fans when he appeared with his guitar and performed again despite his health issue.
In the months afterward, he shared live updates about his treatments and progress. In August, he revealed that he could not do any chemotherapy anymore after going through lumbar replacement surgeries, radiation treatments, and more. At that time, he had to receive painkillers every two hours to ensure he could still survive.
Despite that, he promised that he would keep holding on and stand by everyone else until the end.
On December 10, he left a cryptic post as he told his fans, “I was happy because of you. Thank you. I love you.” A few days later, Korean media outlets revealed he died at the Korea Cancer Center Hospital on December 16 after being re-admitted earlier that day.
