Just in time for the release of the much awaited John Wick film, Netflix also released a new action thriller with a female assassin as its lead.

Kill Boksoon is a South Korean film that can be compared to John Wick and Kill Bill. The only difference is that the lead star in Kill Boksoon is a single mother with a teenage daughter at home.

When she's not on a "show," Gil Bok Soon (played by Jeon Do Yeon) is attending school committee meetings in posh cafes and pretending that she has an event planning business.

While that is one of Bok Soon's secrets, we can't help but ask another: who is the biological father of 15-year-old Jae Young (played by Kim Si Ah)?

Did the Film Reveal Who Jae Young’s Biological Father Is?

Although the movie did not reveal or give a hint on who the biological father of Jae Young is, it revealed that Bok Soon wasn't all work and no play. In fact, she had a couple of love interests in the film.

The first is Han Hee Seong (played by Koo Kyo Hwan), who is her colleague and secret lover. When the two aren't hooking up, Hee Seong pretends to be jealous of Bok Soon's success and her category A status. Meanwhile, he's stuck playing the low-level "shows."

The second love interest is Chairman Cha Min Kyu (played by Sol Kyung Gu), aka the big boss of MK Enterprises.

Ever since the moment Min Kyu first laid eyes on Bok Soon, he was already smitten by the 17-year-old girl. He also got intrigued by her when she helped him kill her own father so he decided to help train her to become his protege.

Through the years, the two have shared a special bond with each other as colleagues. This is something that angered Min Kyu's sister, Cha Min Hee (played by Esom), who was jealous of the attention her brother gave Bok Soon. It's also possible that Min Hee was jealous of Bok Soon since she was in love with her own brother too.

Even though there are two men who could very well be Jae Young's father, the film doesn't give the answer. There is also no indication that Hee Seong could have been in Bok Soon's life long enough to have fathered a child with her.

At the same time, there doesn't seem to be a past between Bok Soon and Min Kyu, especially since Bok Soon pointed out her observation to Min Kyu just before killing him. Bok Soon figured out that Min Kyu was in love with her and that she was his weakness.

When she revealed this realization to Min Kyu, it caught the master assassin off-guard; giving Bok Soon just enough time to slash him with her samurai.

Our Theory on Who Jae Young’s Real Dad Is

So who could Jae Young's real dad be?

Our take is this: Bok Soon took in Jae Young after killing someone in the past. She could have killed a really evil man (who reminded her of her own father) and found Jae Young as a toddler.

With no one to care for her, Bok Soon decided to bring her home and treat her like her own daughter.

Plus, this seems like the most logical explanation on who Jae Young's father is. After all, can you imagine Bok Soon being a pregnant assassin?

Not only that, who would have taken care of Jae Young as a newborn, especially since she was out doing "shows" at night?

Another clue that supports our theory is that Bok Soon's decision to adopt Jae Young could have stopped Min Kyu from being honest about his feelings to her.

Instead, he decided to respect Bok Soon's decision to raise Jae Young as her own daughter.

Again, this is simply our guess on who Jae Young's biological father is. Hopefully, the creators of Kill Boksoon will give its avid viewers a prequel to explain this.

Kill Boksoon is now available to stream on Netflix.
