Kiersey Clemons in Talks to Star in Disney's Live-Action Lady and the Tramp

Disney is moving forward with their live-action adaptations of animated classics. One film down the line primed for a remake is Lady and the Tramp, and news has it that the film is looking to cast Dope's Kiersey Clemons.

According to Variety, Clemons is in talks to play one of the few human parts in the film; she's said to be playing Darling, the owner of the lead dog character Lady. Besides Clemons, the film already has Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) to voice Tramp, as well as Ashley Jensen (Ugly Betty) to voice a gender-swapped version of Jock the Scottish Terrier—Jackie.

To those who don't know the story for Lady and the Tramp, it focuses on a dog of a rich family named Lady who finds herself neglected after her owner gives birth to a child. Somehow, she finds herself on the street and she falls in love with a stray named Tramp.

You don't even have to watch the movie to be familiar with this scene:

Unlike Disney's other remakes like Beauty and the Beast and the upcoming Aladdin, this film is said to be forgoing a theatrical release and is set to come out in Disney's streaming service. Let's hope the quality of production is just as high.

No release date has been announced for the Lady and the Tramp remake.
