Kevin Smith Teams Up With Disney Artist For New Hit-Girl Mini-Series in February

We've been waiting for Kevin Smith's Hit-Girl series ever since Mark Millar announced that he would be one of the creators working on the series. It took a while but Image Comics announced that Smith will be teaming up with Disney animation artist Pernille Orum for Hit-Girl Season Two #1.

Smith has worked on comic books before, starting the legendary Marvel Knights run of Daredevil and even wrote several Batman mini-series', which are of middling quality, so his work here will be interesting. Orum has had plenty of experience in animation, working for Disney, Warner Bros., Mattel Playground, and Nickelodeon.

The concept is an interesting one, as Hit-Girl finds out that they are making a movie based on her and she is having none of it. She'll be storming sets, attacking Hollywood fat cats, and taking on old enemies in California. It's a unique setting for a comic book that's only been done a few times and we can only hope that Chloe Grace Moretz makes a guest appearance.

For those only familiar with the films, Hit-Girl has been going solo for quite a while now. The original Kick-Ass has retired, with a new character now taking the hero's alias. After Millar had returned to the character, it was announced that there would be a rotating creative team, including creators like Jeff Lemire and Rafael Albuquerque.

Hit-Girl Season Two #1 comes out on February 13, 2019.
